We talked and saw many international weddings and compared them with Japan.
Please answer the following questions in your blog.

Since Japanese weddings are expensive, do you think having a massive wedding like Korea or UAE is a good idea? Eloping?

I think Japanese wedding are too expensive.
But I don't like Korea and UAE style.
In additon, I don't want to pay my wedding ceremony.
Instead, I want to go to my luxury honeymoon.
Eloping, I think, that might be one situation.

Having it in a foreign location like Hawaii? What is your ideal wedding?

I want to do my wedding in a foreign location
and to go to foreign location as honeymoon.
My ideal wedding is especially nothing,
but I don't want to spend more money on my ceremoney.

What would you definitely do or wear or go to on that big day? Why is that important?

There is nothing about it into my head.
But I think that it is tradition so we shoudl be respectful of tradition.

Homework Ⅴ -SUPERSTITIONS-

We talked about many superstitions in many countries.

Do you think it is important to talk about them? Why?

No. I don't think it is important because I don't believe it.

Is communication affected by superstitions?

Maybe yes. Sometimes we talk about them. Sometimes...

Do you believe in Japanese superstitions?

No, I don't. I think that superstitions is mere haphazard.

If so, what superstitions, what do they mean and why do you do,use, or believe in them?

I don't believe superstitions.
But, I occasionally think it is uneasy.

As for men of old times, it is mysterious why to have made such superstitions.

The English language has many proverbs and sayings about time.

1. Time is money.

I think so. We can't never get the time again
and money is essential for surviving.
But I think, actually, we should not compare time to money

because they are completely different from each other.

2.A stitch in time saves nine.

I think this proverb is for me. I can't do right away what I have to do.
Then, I panic each time. I hope I would leave my work early.

3.There's no time like the present.

This meaning is "the time is now" or now is your chance.
I like this. It is very nice!

4. Fashionable late.

I take no thought of fashionable late.

Today we discussed the language of clothes. After listening to the lecture and the meaning of colors in clothing, answer the following questions:

1. Do you judge people according to what they wear? Why?

Yes, I do. Because I judge the character by how you look at first impression. For example, if I see someone who wear a cute skirt, I judge the person who is cute, lovely and pretty. And if I see someone who has a boyish appearance, I think the person who is cool. So I am not aware of judging people according to what they wear.

2. Do you think Japanese society puts an importance on clothing when judging other people from another country?

Yes, I think so. Because I can say that about myself.

3. What colors are you wearing now? Do they reflect your mood?

I am wearing ash.
No, I don't. I picked out it without thinking.

Next week we will discuss friends, please prepare by answering the following questions:

1. What are some subjects that you will never discuss with a friend?

I like taking with someone. I often talk to someone about myself. So I say anything that comes into my head without thinking. Though I don't know in my friend's or someone case.

2. Do you have different friends for different parts of your life? If so, how are they different to you? Do you talk about different things? Go to different places? Give me some examples.

Yes, I do. A friend live with her hasband and their baby, and a friend is part-time worker. In the first case, she keep indoor so I go to the her house each time. But We have never talked about the different. We usually talk about high school life. In the latter case, we talk about different things and go to different places because it is not the same that is life circle.

1. Death and Funerals:a. Do you have any international friends or a host family? If so, how would you express your condolences to them if a family member died? If not, then how would you express condolences to an American host family if their Grandmother died?

b. Have you ever been to a foreign funeral?

Yes. I have friends and some host families.
If my host family died, I can't believe. But I think that I keep on crying and mail a letters of condolences. Maybe I think that I will write about enjoyed memories with the person. And, I have so much to write about the person so I make slow writing.

2. The language of Clothes (preparation for next weeks topic):
a.Why are Japanese designer label crazy? Why is what you wear so important?

I think so, too. Japanese designer label is crazy. I think that Japanese dont think anything. Japanese think the meaning of a word is more important than design.

b. What does “Don’t judge a book by it’s cover.” mean to you?

Becouse Japanese use a word without thinking, We must not be guided by the appearance of things.

1. Reflecting about today's class:Today we discussed the Japanese concept of "wrapping". Do you agree with the web site's description?What do you do that can be called "wrapping"? Give examples and reasons for your actions.

I agree. I think so, too.
I often make a group with my friends. This group is composed of only close friends. So, I think this is "wrapping".

2. Preparation for the next class "Death and Funerals" Answer these questions in your blog;

a. Where do you go when you die?

I think that all living thing come to nothing.

b. Explain why do Japanese have death memorial services 1 month, 1 year, 3 years, 7 years, etc. after a person's death?

I think that to hold a memorial service for a person's death.
